OCRA Student Case Study Presentation: INCREASING LOCAL CONSUMER DEMAND THROUGH MARKETING STRATEGIES

Thursday, June 16, 2022 (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

You're invited to hear Mamaroneck students present their research on increasing local consumer demand through marketing strategies. The four female juniors are part of a 4-year program at MHS entitled Original Civic Research & Action, which helps students become civic entrepreneurs. Concerned about the increased competition from e-commerce, aka “Amazon effect”, which has deeply affected local business districts and the small retail businesses that reside in them, these students sought to design, implement, and test the effectiveness of various researched-based social media and SMS marketing strategies by selecting 1-2 platforms based on a local retailer’s target consumer audience. During their presentation, students will share their preliminary findings from working with a local clothing retailer. The students' end goal is to issue a public report of their findings and recommendations to be presented and made available to local Chamber of Commerce organizations and small businesses owners. These students, like local businesses, want a thriving business district but understand that consumer demand is key.
